Most Serious and Driven Schools?

I know drinking and partying is part of the whole college experience, but which schools are known for, while having parties and fun, being particularly serious and driven? Where it's more about learning than having sex and drinking. MORESO, at least haha

MIT and Caltech for sure!

MIT, Caltech, Chicago, Swarthmore, Reed

Harvey Mudd

Why are people saying MIT? From what I hear, MIT is pretty much a party school. Just because the kids are nerdy doesn’t mean they don’t like to party.

Schools like Harvey Mudd, CalTech, and Chicago seem more fitting to me.

caltech harvey mudd

@MSauce: Not everyone who goes to MIT is nerdy…they just take college seriously. I’m not saying that they don’t party at all, or anything. However, MIT is no UCSB. that’s for sure.

Haha…I say this as a very biased party but I think Wharton is fairly driven. Ya…UPenn is the social ivy…but the Wharton kids are so dam focused on their careers that I think they are some of the most driven people in the world.

Kids from Chicago love talking about the academic RIGOR there.

Deep Springs College

MIT is known for hosting some of the BEST frat parties.

UChicago, Swarthmore, Princeton, MIT

From what I’ve read on here, University of chicago does not sound like a lot of fun.

Don’t take life too seriously. It’s too short.

Grinnell has that reputation.

Def UChicago.

On the other hand, Stanford and Penn are two VERY laid-back schools.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I don’t see that “being more about learning” and “being driven” are necessarily the same things.
