@Knowsstuff correct-my son’s friend did want to leave his comfort zone and go to WashU instead of Chicago.
My kid was similar-Mom wanted him to stay in California and go to either Berkeley or USC. He hated both of the schools and I agreed with him.
@Coloradomama Case is a good choice as well. Plus they are pretty generous with merit aid.
