I plan to major in engineering at UCLA. Which AP tests would be most useful for skipping out requirements, etc.? I went onto the AP credit website under engineering but didn't really know what some of the things there meant. Some of them had numbers and physics had something called general "C"???

“general B” I think refers to Physics 1B/6B, which is the middle course of the core physics series, so general C would be Physics 1C/6C. AP Physics will not get you out of it. You can’t get out of physics, chemistry, or biology. You can get out of a few math classes (2 at most) :<a href=“You are being redirected...”>Undergraduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics;

doing well on AP English Lang/AP English Lit can get you out of English Comp 3

doing well on a foreign language AP will get you out of the foreign language requirement.

AP USH/ AP US Gov will get you out of the US History requirement

The school of engineering does not have a foreign language requirement for graduation from the college.

I’m pretty sure General C does not mean Physics 6C/1C. If you look at it, that doesn’t really make sense because why AP Physics Mechanics does not at all overlap with the content of 6C/1C which is optics and light. I think some people could petition for course equivalency for Physics credit, but as an engineering major, that might not be too likely since they’ll probably want you to have learned their curriculum for the more advanced courses later. And as for math Ap credit, engineers can only get the first class (31A) credit with a good BC score.
