Motivation?!?!?!

Okay so I'm in the middle of finals and have been studying and doing homework non-stop for the past 2 weeks with no breaks and my work has been trying to work my butt off apparently since everyone else has finals and called in with priority. I got off an 8 hr intensive shift and my legs are like jelly (as is my mind). It's 4am and I have to leave for class in 5 hrs and have a lot of homework to finish.

In these sort of scenarios how does everyone motivate, stay awake, and just not throw in the towel??!?!?!?!?

Any tips would be amazing!

It sounds like your problem is exhaustion, not a lack of motivation. Is there any way you can make your schedule less demanding next semester?

mmm yeah, I’m planning on trying to work only one day a week since I’m taking 19 units next semester. I’m happy to know I’m not just lazy. lol

COFFEE! Lots and lots of COFFEE!

hahahahahah like^

They more balanced and appropriate a schedule the less likely you will have such tough times. I don’t know your financial situation but I would suggest trying to cut back on the hours of work. School should probably be the priority (in my opinion).

Yeah I’ve decided to do one day a week, its not worth it to risk my grades. Managed to get everything done though this time but who knows about next time.

wow no one’s answering the question!!! Come on guys, some motivational stories, quotes, lyrics…anything will do! :)

I just think of how much i’m paying to go. That is a good motivator.

I stay motivated because I have a scholarship that requires me to keep a 3.0 for renewal. And if I lose that, I have no idea how to pay for school besides loans.

Personally I stay motivated for the money. lol

Maybe you can think of or remind yourself of why you went to college?

think of your tuition costs. that’s plenty enough to scare me into the library on a saturday morning.

if you’re the type who listens to music during finals, try 8tracks. they have a ton of playlists and you can search for ones that are labeled ‘study’ or ‘chill’ or something similar.

Go for a run. Take a break and have a glass of cold ice water. Either of those usually does the trick for me.

Same is here. Most of the time i try to take a good and sound sleep and after this i feel better. After a long busy schedule we need a break, after this we feel more energetic and recharged. Tea or coffee is itself give a relaxation.

You have to keep telling yourself that it will be over soon. And then plan ahead for the bout of finals. Make sure that you request some time off from work during those days that you know you will have tests to deal with. That way you won’t be the one that gets stuck there when you really need to study.

You can sleep later and have some fun later too when it is all over. Just keep track of the light at the end of the tunnel. believe it or not, the ability to stick it through without just giving up is a very useful tool that will come in handy later on in life. The determination to stay up and keep going will come back to you later when you really need it. You might have projects for work that have to done or maybe will have a new baby to take care of that need constant care.

The classes that you are studying for right now, may or may not be something that you need later on in life. The skills though, and the ability to push yourself will definitely be something that you fall back on without a doubt.
