I know you have to pay for parking (over $500 a semester for West Lot, and even more for the other lots), but what about motorcycles, mopeds, and electric scooters? Do you have to park one of these in a parking spot, or can you treat it like a bicycle and lock it up next to the bike racks? Or should I keep it in my room?
I want to get a something like a scooter, moped, or motorcycle, but definitely something under $1000 (or $3000 if I get a motorcycle). I don't wanna pay $1000 to park a $3000 motorcycle over the course of a year...
Any thoughts?

There's a separate parking permit for motorcycles. It's $276 for this school year, so expect a number in that ballpark (i.e. probably in your budget).

I think there are spaces in most of the parking lots for motorcycles, too.

Thanks. As far as what type of vehicle to get, any advice?

I think you are incorrect about the parking charges. (see below) Charges listed are for the full year, not the semester.

South Stadium Lot

$274

College Lots

Central Campus Garage

UNDERGRADUATE SURCHARGES

3rd Year at Rice

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this mean then that as a Freshman I'd have to pay $300 + $66 to park my motorcycle, no matter where I park it? And as a sophomore it would go to $210 + $66?
