Mount Holyoke Class of 2020 RD

My daughter was accepted and got a Leadership Award! I guess I was wrong about the date.

I got in!!! Anyone else having trouble logging in to financial aid? Congrats on your daughter’s award, @AnxietyAttack77 !!!

Waitlisted as well

For all those waitlisted, are you remaining on the list or not? I feel bad that I might be taking up space for someone else but at the same time, I haven’t heard back from enough colleges to make a definitive decision

@bgal101 you have to log into your financial aid portal!

@bgal101 you have to log into your financial aid portal!

@Fiona1997 I also shocked you weren’t accepted. I had a 3.21 UW GPA and 3.87 Weighted. 31 ACT. I’m a IB student with an internship in my state gov., president of a club, and part of student government among other things. I also spent a weekend at Mount Holyoke (shadow day and overnight) and have gone up there on at least two separate trips and interviewed and I live in Maryland. But I am the second kid to be in college in my family and financial aid was a huge factor, so I’m guessing it’s why I wasn’t accepted.

@mech423 I logged into FA portal but nowhere does it say anything about how much I’m getting. It just says that all materials were received

@Fiona1997 I totally understand your struggle right now but colleges sometimes don’t accept overly qualified students bcz they know that they would choose to go elsewhere for college anyway. It is still extremely wrong for them to do that but they need to keep their stats high so that their ranking will go up

accepted with Trustee Scholarship! I’m majorly excited; I was waitlisted at UChicago yesterday so it’s nice to get some good news.

@hellokitty679 i actually really want to go there…

Wow I really am sorry about that :frowning: I’m sure they will consider your appeal and just know that with your stats you will get into other great schools. Honestly, I wish I had the GPA you had because I’m getting rejected from many schools on this basis

DD was accepted with a 4.0 UW and 4.3 W GPA and a 31 on the ACT so I don’t think they’re just turning down highly qualified people. I’m sure it comes down to intangibles sometimes, like the interview, the essays, the letters of recommendation, etc. Hang in there everyone, there’s a perfect college home for all of you amazing young women!!

@mech423 I finally got in, thanks! Unfortunately, they’re asking for too much out of pocket compared to other schools, so I probably won’t be attending :frowning: but congratulations to all who got in!

Accepted with Trustee Scholarship! Congrats to all other accepted students! To those who did not hear good news tonight: I am sure you will soon!

Accepted with Leadership award!!

@magleby @vellichor I was also just accepted with the Trustee scholarship!!

Accepted. 35 ACT, 3.4GPA (upward trend from Bs and Cs to As), lots of APs. I got the “leadership award”/$15k scholarship. Still not an option financially, despite FAFSA claiming we can contribute the full amount (complete bs, idk how they calculate that).
Disappointing. If I can’t get enough merit aid from one of my easier schools, I’m incredibly scared about my highly selective ones. Maybe it’s because I never did an interview? I hope that’s it. MoHo lost my interview request in the email server and when they figured out, I had two weeks to schedule one, and at that point I was too stressed with finals and such. I’m not optimistic for my other schools.

Accepted with a Leadership award!

Accepted! Will attend
