Hey everyone, congratulations to those who got in! For those who are set on going, I thought it’d be nice if we got to know one another, because it would be nice to know other people going into college. Personally, I’m from a small town in southwestern Massachusetts - near Providence, RI. I applied EDI (and was accepted!) and will be majoring in History and Economics, minoring in French and possibly doing a certificate in Gender Studies. I’d love to meet other girls in my field of study (or not - either is cool) and possibly find a roommate! If you want to, post your intended major and where you’re from and we can get to know one another! Also, would anyone be interested in starting a Facebook or Twitter page for our class? Let me know! Thank you guys!
Hi travelhound97 and everyone! I’m from the northshore of Massachusetts-just outside of Boston-and I applied EDI and will be attending MHC this fall! I can’t wait to meet all of you and having this opportunity is truly a dream come true. I intend to major in Education with possible minors in Art and/or English lit. I like the Facebook page idea. I really just want it to be next year already! Haha
Thanks for starting this thread!
Congrats, ladies Last year the accepted students started a FB page and it was quite lively. My D met her roommate there (they requested each other after getting to know one another all summer on the FB page.) Unlike some schools, I don’t think that MHC initiates that, so one of you will have to.
Hey everyone! I am from the the greater Boston area and I am so excited to attend MHC!! I intend to major in bio with a minor in maybe gender studies! I also love the idea of a FB page and would love to work with some of you to get it started!
Heyy! Congrats ladies! I am an international student that got accepted ED II and super excited to attend! I agree, I think a facebook page would be great for us to get to know each other! I am from the middle east and plan to major in international relations ( still not sure though! ) Can’t wait to meet you all!
Hi! Congrats to everyone! I’m an international student from South America that was accepted under ED II as well. I will be majoring in Journalism and maybe a minor in Gender Studies. The Facebook page idea is great. I already looked it up on FB and found one closed group, but I’m not sure it’s the official one. Really excited to meet you all guys!
I am an International student who got deferred from Early decision this year. I have applied with a test optional policy.
Just want to know how to keep my chances high. I have given O levels and GED. And my ielts score is quite low(5.5) But my ECAs are good since I was active and I am confident about my essays and recommendation letters too. Exactly what kind of students does Mount Holyoke College want? It is my dream school !
Contact your admissions rep. They usually set up a facebook group for admitted students. Sometimes current students also join the group to answer questions about “life”. Like what to pack, photos of the dorms, etc. congrats to you all. The next few months are Avery exciting time full of new adventures. Enjoy.
@Mehndi: May you please share your ecas, then it’ll be easier for you to know!
RD applicant. read in last years thread about some people not being able to create and open the financial aid online account until they were accepted.
so I tried it and I could and it let me in, and had my proper name and everything (they ask for your first name, birthdate, and to choose answers for a couple security questions).
does this mean anything?
I don’t know–I created one months ago but I’m not sure it’s exactly the same thing you are talking about. Do you have an award?
I just looked at ours–is it the place where they tell you all your financial requirements have been received? If so, that’s been there a long time.
yeah. and no award. not yet anyway.
just so nervous. i know stats wise and considering mount holyoke has less apps overall than smith and smith had the 600 app increase that i have a way better chance at getting into Mount Holyoke than Smith.
in past years they’ve done it on the 3rd friday of march or that sat- between the 19th-23rd depending on where the weekend falls in the calendar.
I just want to know, so I can either move on or set up an accepted students day (they are all close or on similar dates in april).
aaargh. so impatient… nervous.
if the financial aid is decent, there’s a very strong chance I would go if accepted.
Hang on, rach131. Just a few more days.
They just tweeted “Admission decisions will be released on or before April 1. Check your student portal/account for earliest notice!” I hope they release it soon though!
i wish they’d give an actual date lol. they always do it earlier. annoying.
I thought the notification date was April 1?
My decision went live about an hour ago - I’ve been accepted (with a leadership scholarship, too)!!! Best of luck to you all!
@beingearnest
is it still up? I read a whole thread about them accidentally uploading decisions early last year, removing them, and reuploading them.
anyone else have a decision up.
congratulations!!!
My D just got accepted with a leadership award too! So happy. Good luck everyone!
D was accepted with the Leadership Scholarship as well! Good luck everyone.
