Being admitted for spring semester is just what it sounds like–you start in spring of 2016 as opposed to fall 2015. That’s why aid only shows semester; because you won’t be a student there the fall. dont worry, they do want you on campus, but aren’t enough spots left is all.
Here @Pearl98 I found a link for you
https://www.mtholyoke.edu/admission/congratulations/spring_faq
@GB1904 will definitely check it thanks, were you also admitted?
Yes, I was! The only thing I’m not sure of is financial aid, so I have to wait until other college decisions come in before I decide But hopefully I’ll see everyone there next year!
@GB1904 Yeah same here although their aid covers almost all my tuition,I’d still have to take out some loans to cover EFC but they are the first school to have given me so much so they r on top of my list, see you next year too
I didnt get a great financial aid package either, but I half expected that. I hoping some of my need-blind schools will pull through
hi pearl! I was selected to be a spring admit too! it is so exciting
u can prob appeal or negotiate financial aid as they are committed to meeting 100 percent need for domestic students
question; colleges have been telling me to join the FB official 2019 group but I always felt like you had to be certain you were going there before joining. is this true? I really want to get to know some of you potential classmates.
did anyone join the page yet?
Go ahead and join. It gives you a chance to check out a little bit more. My d joined one school. She isn’t really a social media person–I don’t think she keeps up with it at all. I’m pretty sure she never introduced herself on the page she joined and she probably looks at it rarely. But others make connections there, so do it!
Accepted with Leadership Scholarship!!!
Heyy @design123321 are you going to commit? Oh and I think its a good idea to join colleges’ clas of 2019 FB group. Does MHC have any?
There is a closed one available on Fb. It was started by ED Students and now it’s growing
Yes they do
Congrats to everyone!!! My D is a first year and she loves it - it’s a remarkable school.
@ems124 Yes, they will mail a little package in a week or so. If I recall, the letter is the same as what you have on line. Your financial award letter will also be included.
Do you find out what subject/program you have been offered admission for? I applied for three subjects i.e. Economics (1st place), Politics (2nd) and Intl Relations (3rd) but I can’t seem to find which subject I’ve been offered admission to
@shnoobidoox3 At Mount Holyoke you are accepted into the whole college, not into a major or department as at some large universities. You do not need to actually decide and declare your major until sophomore year. You can choose any of the majors you listed above, or something entirely different!
ur admitted to the school not a specific program. you have until end of sophomore year to declare a major(s) or minor (s)
Hi everyone! I’m not 100% sure if I’m going to Holyoke but it’s pretty likely. I can’t believe I was accepted. I feel so great I’m going to take another tour tomorrow with my mom (last time I went with my dad). I asked a TON of questions during my last visit, but maybe I’ll have some more…
Come back and describe it for us! We only toured in the summer when the campus was empty.
