I am in dire need of financial aid . I can pay upto 10k towards my education including my personal expenses. My father is retired and he can pay 10 k in total that excludes my travels. I can mange my travel cost by jobs on campus.

In previous threads, I saw people asking not to do ED2 if you need a lot of aid but Mount Holyoke is one of my top choices. So should I go for Regular decision or ED?

Hi @Aunannya20, I’m also applying this year, so my opinion is by no means a professional one. All I’ve learned is just from hours of reviewing online statistics.

MHC values diversity, and international students help them a lot in that area. You meet all of their standards as far as academics, so I wouldn’t worry there at all. Congrats on your national merit scholarship! You seem to have plenty of diverse ECA’s, so those will make you a stand-out candidate. In my opinion, it’s almost a sure thing you’re admitted! They’d be silly not to.

As far as your financial needs, I wouldn’t worry too much, MHC is very generous with need-based financial aid, and you’ll probably claim some more merit-based awards by the time you get there. I was also worried about paying for this level of education, so I went with RD, but it’s no big deal if you ended up in ED. It is quite a lot of money.

Hope this helps a little bit!
