You're welcome. Now I really know hovering around the mailbox might be worthwhile after school. I live in Massachusetts, so if mine was sent the 16th (which admissions wouldn't say), I would have received an acceptance by priority mail or a rejection in the regular mail either way by now. But that's purely speculation. I am just glad to hear somebody is having their dreams come true and the letters are coming out!

And to clarify from an earlier post...I think Mount Holyoke Early Decisioners are some of the last of all Early Decision applicants at all schools to be notified. Most all of my friends who applied ED know their status (all actually). But that's okay, we're in it for the long-haul.

Hey Sweta...I just got home from school. Nothing yet...I am freaking out now. But that's a good sign if it's DHL, because DHL isn't USPS and my mail already came today. I am so scared now. This isn't good, not good at all. But the only thing I can think back to is the fact it was ambiguous on the phone with admissions from my dad as to whether "EVERYTHING" had been put in the mail, and why would the woman have said "up to ten days" potentially for everything to be in the mail. I am trying to rationalize my way through this. Like, I don't know what the deal is...good god I am terrified. I don't know what I am going to do if I don't get in. I can only hope a see a big yellow truck soon. And they lost two pieces of my app which took a week to recover and delayed me, oh, I don't know!

My daughter will be joining you in the class of 2010. We just found out today ourselves. She received a very generous financial aid packet to boot!

This is truly a tough school to be accepted to and all of you must have some great qualities besides the intellectual abilities that you bring. You should all be very, very proud! I know that your parents are!

Good luck to all of you who've been accepted and to those still waiting by the mailbox.

And I have no idea how many exclamation points those are, but that doesn't even begin to adequately describe the joy at present, my heartbeat's racing and the sweat in my palms. Okay, enough with the hyperbole...

But I'm in, 2010 Mount Holyoke, baby! Sweta, you and me, and our new '10 accomplices on the board, here we come!!! You were right all along Sweta, even in my moments of doubt. The entire six and a half minute car ride from my school to my home was the longest six and a half minutes of my life. And now it's here. Priority Mail. I wonder why it took so long...but you know, I don't even care anymore. 'Cause I'm in.

^, yes, we submitted financial aid forms (with the exception of FAFSA which isn't available until January 1, so all the other stuff). I don't know if the amount we received was a "good amount" but I guess all I can tell you is that my parents were borderline in regards to apply for financial aid in the first place. My package was more than they thought it would be though.

MHC is one of the better schools for Financial Aid. (Note: this doesn't mean they'll shovel money at everyone, just merely that they tend to be "better.")

thankyou pyewacket ... i so much appreciate all the help you have offered i nthe past with your precious information!
and good luck to all the re and ED 2 doers !!!

Thanks pyewacket! It was an alumna who directed me to Mount Holyoke in the first place, and I must say, the pride and enthusiasm of MHC alumnae is unparalleled. From 1972 to 2010...it's an amazing place, and I can't wait to get there.
