<p>So my aunt is planning my cousin's wedding for late August and she wanted to pick a date that wouldn't be in conflict with the NYU move-in date. So, when do we get to move in? When does orientation start?</p>

<p>im not sure, but i think we go in a week earlier for that get to know each other week thingy they have for freshman.</p>

<p>matt, your orientation date depends on which college you'll be in. Some of them do orientation throughout the summer months. Some during AUO (all university orientation)/ Welcome Week. You move in on the Sunday and the orientation events begin on Monday.</p>
<p>Just to clarify, even if you have a summer orientation, you STILL move in on that last Sunday in August and participate in Welcome Week.</p>

<p>Welcome Week is for freshmen. Freshmen move in on that Sunday and upperclassmen move in later that week, usually the following weekend. Classes begin the day after Labor Day.</p>
