Probably mentioned before or easily looked up but when is move in day for incoming freshmen (muir, if it makes a difference)
I know 20th -25th is welcome week but I would think this is optional? Correct me if I'm wrong.
My dad is saying how we have to move in on the 3rd of september.. I don't know where he got this number...

School official starts on the 25th or 28th? (according to my friend its either these two dates)

school starts on a thursday. freshmen move in on sunday to take advantage of orientation week activities before classes start. your dad is very, very wrong.

your college should be mailing you information along with your room assignment.

move-in day is september 17th, but your housing contract does not begin until the 20th. that means you move your things in on 17th and i guess you have to hang around at a hotel or something like that until the 20th. for sixth college kids, we have an orientation between 17th and 20th so we get to sleep in our dorms. your college should be mailing you information soon (late august to early september)

I think the Sept. 17 move in date is only for those who have their orientation in September. All other freshman can start moving in on the 20th. And the website says all students must be moved in by the 24th. Am I missing any info here?

It appears that each college is different as far as when "move-in" days are concerned. For Marshall, you can have an early move-in if you registered for it and are attending either the Sept 18 or Sept 19 orientation. However the earliest move-in is the 18th, not the 17th. I guess for Sixth college it is different, so best to go to your college web site and click on the move in details, because it's obviously not a generalized date!
