My D is attending Maryland this fall as a freshman. No Honors or scholars. Does anyone know where I can find the dates when she will move in and start classes? We can't seem to find them on the website.</p>
<p>Here is the academic calendar. It does not look like ResLife has posted any specific move-in info yet for the Fall. Classes start on Monday, August 30, so her move-in date will be either Saturday, August 29 or August 30. They usually try to get the Freshmen moved in a day before the rest of campus, so it would be a good guess that it would be Saturday, August 29. She won’t know her room assignment until early August, however.</p>
<p>People in CP scholars will move in on August 27, as there is a Service Day event for CPS all day on August 28.</p>

<p>I’m trying to coordinate two college move-ins in two states so that info is helpful!</p>
<p>They should give you more info closer to the end of the summer (i.e. when she finds out who her roommate is), but I believe that the general freshman move-in date is Friday, August 27. The first day of classes is Monday, August 30.</p>
<p>Though there are official move-in dates, a friend of mine who worked for reslife told me that you can move in any time up to a week before classes begin and they are not allowed to turn you away. Take this with a grain of salt, as it is 2nd hand information, but I believe you shouldn’t have a problem moving in whichever day you should choose. Do know, that if you move in before the weekend, the meal plan won’t work and meals will have to be paid out of pocket.</p>
<p>Last year, move-in for non-honors freshmen was on Friday. (Honors was Thursday and returning students on Saturday-Sunday). One thing that was a surprise to us was that the RAs had hall meetings at 3 p.m. on Friday…we were delayed moving in so that was the first thing DS did…headed to the meeting while we were unloading his stuff.</p>
<p>I know August 26th is the Honors program move-in day.</p>
<p>Scholars/Honors/other special programs move in on August 26th (Thursday), with Scholars Service Day being on Friday, August 27th. The general population moves in on that Friday.</p>
