Although today is designated as an early move-in for folks traveling long distances, it seems like a lot of kids are moving in, including my daughter. Good luck to all the girls and safe travels for them and their parents. An exciting new chapter begins.

So exciting! Good luck to all!

2015? I suddenly need a rocking chair. You’ll know what I mean when the Class of 2022 moves in.

Moved my first year into her house yesterday. Her teenage sister got lucky and got to spend Wednesday night with her big sister in the house because my D’s roommate wasn’t moving into until today. Now she wants to be in the class of 2018!!!

Coincidentally, my D’s roommate is the younger sister of a Smithie. And my D’s hostess at Prospie Visit Night was one of a set of twins who were both Smithies.

I wonder how many sister groupings Smith sees every year?

My daughter’s been working in admissions and living on campus all summer and of course the campus was quiet with just a couple of houses fully occupied. She finished her last day Saturday and she had been looking forward to coming home for a quiet, quickie break, but Hurricane Irene happened instead! I dropped her off yesterday as Glee Club rehearsals began today. The campus was definitely beginning to wake up. The beginning of the year is always so exciting! Have a great year, everyone! :D

We moved ours in over two days. First day was a little crazy but yesterday very nice with several leisurely parent-oriented events. Got to meet some of the people from the FB group. Parents feel free to join. [Log In | Facebook](Smith College Parents and Families | Facebook)

Her room looks great already and the house staff was very helpful. Here’s to a great four years for the Class of 2015(loud cheers and whistles).

Heard from my D tonight and she sounds so happy! She’s always wanted a loft bed and was able to get it in her house. She says it’s like sleeping in the clouds. Her house is fantastic! looks like Martha Stewart could have designed parts of it. Now she’s trying to navigate the registration process. It’s great I’m not there to help ;)
