Move-In Day without a car

So I'm from NYC, but my college is in Ithaca. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna have to take the bus there. Is this doable? I have a really big suitcase (31 inch) and will also have some carry-on's and a backpack. Will I be under-packed if that's all I carry? Will I be the only one doing this?

In my experience with D1 and D2, I have seen many students that moved-in without a car. This is particularly the case with international students. I would find out if the bus that you would take to Ithaca has any limits on the luggage that you can take. The other option that you have is to send most of your stuff via UPS or USPS. Don’t worry about being under-packed as you can always buy what you need in Ithaca. Good luck!

You can rent a car and have someone drive it back.

When my daughter went to school via airplane, we sent all her stuff (except for a suitcase) ahead. The school had arrangements to hold it. Many kids did this. I think it would be easier for you, as the luggage you are talking about seems too much to haul by yourself.
