i am scheduled to move in on sep 16 at mesa court. Am i allowed to move in a day or two afterwards and can i stay in my dorm room if i decided to move in on sep 16. Also does anyone have any good recomendations on what i should bring?

Yes you can move in late. I don't understand your second question..you're scheduled to move in on Sept. 16 and you're asking if you can stay in your dorm room on Sept. 16..why wouldn't you be able to you if that's your move in date..

make sure u call the housing office to have ur date moved to the 17th, the 2nd question do you mean like if u change ur mind and decide to move in on the 16th instead of the 17th can you still come and check in right? hm... i dont know i guess so, they're not gonna kick you back home and tell you to come the next day

do we actually have to call the housing office?

how strict are they on the 30-minute unloading time? also...since i'm gonna be on the third floor...does that mean i'm gonna carry all my luggages up the flights of stairs? or is there an elevator :P (not that i expect there to be..) also, are roomies scheduled the same move-in time?

They better have elevators! UCD did =.

well.... iono about ME and MC, but UCD has to have elevators bc their halls are like 10+ levels or something hehe, as for carrying ur stuff upstairs, im sure ur hallmates who are finished will help u =D

Segundo at UCD has the most floors with 5 stories, while both Tercero and Cuarto are three stories. All are air conditioned and Cuarto has a pool and spa in the center of three of its four clusters. Each residence hall has its own dining commons and Cuarto has two. UC Davis residence halls are located in three primary areas of campus, close to shopping, classes, and recreational and campus facilities. Each area offers air-conditioned accommodations, community lounges, study space, recreation areas, a learning resource center, dining hall, laundry room, kitchenettes, and live-in staff to assist you academically and socially. In addition to these three residence hall areas, during the 2006 academic year UC Davis offers transfer students accommodations at 500 Parkway Circle, on campus near LaRue Park.

Residence hall students may live in suites, quads, or rooms off a main hallway; rooms within each of these configurations may be single, double, or triple occupancy; Parkway Circle residents will enjoy living in a more traditional style home with single- and double-occupancy rooms off a central hallway. A variety of single-sex environments are offered throughout the Segundo and Tercero residence hall areas, while all accommodations in the Cuarto area are single-sex suites. Because of its smaller size and configuration, Parkway Circle is a single-sex facility. All rooms are furnished with beds, desks, desk chairs, lamps, dressers, bookshelves, & wastebaskets; linens must be provided by occupants.

i know oakenshield in middle earth (where im staying!) has elevators.. dunno about the other ones

You don't need to call. They really don't care. I was a day late and my roommate moved in when welcome week was almost over.

yeah, i mean welcome week is just welcome week, and they have to have a specific date and time for everyone, but its ok some people don't follow it, it's not that big of a deal as long as you get there before school starts, is oakenshield in phase 3, the newer halls?

At our last "mandatory hall meeting," my RA said, "The most happy and frightening thing was the first hall meeting when you guys thought it was mandatory and all 66 of you showed up. It was scary to speak in front of all of you but it was also the cutest moment." Hall meetings are cool, and i believe you should go to them. They are not "mandatory" though in case you guys are wondernig. =)

^^ yeah, oakenshield is in phase 3

are people usually scheduled to move in during the daytime/afternoon? because i think i might want to go saturday late-afternoon or night...

^ It seems that everyone's time slots are in the morning til mid-afternoon. so if you move in late-afternoon or night, there won't be people helping you out? and I heard UCI will provide those big cart thingies so we can transport heavy boxes and stuff (can someone confirm this??). soo I doubt they'd have those there for you

i called this morning to change my time to later and the girl said that i can move in until 11pm but the carts are only avaliable until 3:30. this was for middle earth, but i think it should be the same for mesa?
