move-in day

will they allow me to move into my dorm a day or two before the actual move-in day? i found out that my CalSO orientation is a day before the summer sessions move-in date, so where could i stay if they won't allow me into my dorm?

I don't think they'll let you but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask. For the time being, you can stay in a hotel somewhere, or if you know someone, see if you can live with them for a day or two.

you can do couchsurfing.com (this is how i will be staying when I do my calSO). people reply insanely quick on that site, so you'll know asap if they can have you over for a night.

or i'll probably be getting an apartment starting june next to berkeley. your more than welcome to stay for a couple days as long as you offer a pack of beer as worship.

If you don't care which bed you want at the dorm, don't move in during the morning. Everyone is there trying to beat the crowd. You end up waiting over a hour to use the elevators.

The best is to go right to your dorm room without your belongings, and just lay claim to your bed with some personal items. Then, move in after 3 pm, the crowd will be gone.
