move in day

ok so move in day is august 22, but what happens if you want/can only move in the 21, 23, or 24? whats the difference? just that theres a lot less USC staff to help? any other differences?

as for the 21st, i think you have to pay about $50 to have your room opened early. the 23rd & 24th (they said at orientation) would be acceptable, but "strongly discouraged" since you'd be missing a lot of the events, like meeting your R.A. & stuff like that.

For apartments with gated parking lots, August 22 is the only day that the lot will be open to students without permits. For complexes like Cardinal Gardens, this can mean the difference between easily carrying your belongings from the car right into your room versus parking a block or two away on the street and having to lug things in.

if you want to move in later, call YOUR SPECIFIC housing customer service office and tell them(eg: if you live in troy hall, call troy hall/east customer service office). they most likely will let you.
if you don't call them, there is the potential for them to charge you or even cancel the contract.

troy hall? i'm not so sure. i lived on the first floor in the spring semester and it was really quiet. i'd call card gard (cardinal gardens) a party place.

kkgirl ~ My son will be in Troy Hall next year. Could you give some thoughts on the pluses and minuses of Troy? I think you were there last year, weren't you? What was good, and what did you like least? Noisy or quiet, party place? Whatever you can add would be welcome.

Anyone else with knowledge of Troy Hall, please jump in...

so wait, I'm moving in on the 24th to webb. could I still park my car in the nearest parking center for free? (otherwise I'll have to wait until after 5, I have a UPC parking sticker)

troy is quiet and less social than other complexes. i was on the first floor, which was dead quiet. we were surrounded by sophomores. troy is predominantly for sophomores and up.
i know the third floor is...noisier, and that many of the basketball players lived on that floor.

there are a few organized RA events, which usually get low turnout. go to them, some of them are cool. we got 20 dollar tix to wicked, free trip to pinks hot dogs ..etc etc.

the only bad thing about troy was that i was a freshman and off campus, and the majority of freshman were on campus. also, alot of my classes were on the opposite end of campus and that was a walk.

kkgirl: I think you posted on the wrong thread :)

^ uh.. dont think so
