<p>Silly question, but are the dorm keys given to you as soon as you check in? my parents want to spend a ton of time with me before classes start, so i will just leave my stuff in the dorms, and hang out with them until the 25th( including sleeping in the hotel they're sleeping in. parents <em>sigh</em>)</p>
<p>You can check in /move in 24 hours a day, and yes you get your key to the room when you check in. You can then unload, but you do not have to be in your room after that. You can come and go, and stay with your folks. While there are visitation limitations on some dorms, you can enter and exit your room and your dorm 24 hours a day once you have a key. There is no check in or check out of the dorm once you have a key, no roll call, etc!</p>
<p>ouch, that stinks...my parents are leaving right after i move myself in, thank goodness.</p>
<p>Yeah, my parents are gonna help me move all my stuff in and setup my dorm and then leave the next day. My mom is an alumna of FSU, so she already knows the campus and everything fairly well.</p>
