So I'm seeking advice from some parents or current/former students. We just got the move in email, reservations open of 7/16. How are the times set up? Every half hour? What is the range each day? 08-1700? Just curious so we can plan a good time. We'll be driving up but won't stay unless we get a very late/early time.
Is there parking after unloading, so we can help with setup?
Any advice? It will be the Graham area, luckily first floor.
thanks

Bah…we’re stuck with the 3rd floor at Jennings…and DD wants to bring furniture/TVs, etc.

I’m thinking it’s at least 8am to 5pm. After you unload, you will be able to park in student parking lots (Red 1, All Red, Green, or “Any Decal”). Decal restrictions are lifted for a very short time in these lots. I’m thinking it’s easier getting parking, early in the week, before most of the students (and their cars) arrive.

What fun…

Thanks, after reading the housing page I see a little more info. Still like to know how many slots per hour, for example. And how many per area. Also deciding how much to buy ahead of time. I hate for him to go out and buy big items once we leave. It’ll probably get harder to move stuff in.

Also, An y advice on securing valuables? I’m not thinking a lot of stuff, laptop, phone, watch. The laptop does not have one of those locking ports for a cable.
thanks

My DD’s laptop also doesn’t have a security slot, so I’ve been looking for another option (other than not keeping it on her desk).

I’ve found two options, and I’m not really happy with either. First are locks that “glue” to the laptop. This may be the only option, below is an example.

http://www.staples.com/Mac-Locks-CL15UTL-6-Universal-Tablet-Cable-Lock/product_908976

The second option is sliding the lock thru the hinge. If you can slide the thin cable/metal thru your hinge, this would be the best solution (no glue!).

On personal items, it’s best to get into a habit of keeping them in a draw and out of sight. You could use a small locked box, but then they could just take the box…

Don’t forget to schedule your check-in appointment. The first three Tuesday sessions at Jennings are full (8-10am, 10am to 12, and 12 to 2pm). Wow, they had sessions on Saturday and Sunday (8/23 and 24). Who wants a Sunday 6pm to 10pm check-in appointment?

Thanks for the reminder. We’re in for Graham am on Wed, We could have had a little later on Tues but didn’t bother. Tues is full for Graham now. We would have taken Tues but not sure what the big rush is. No other time/day is full yet for Graham. Am I missing something as to why Tues would be so overwhelmingly popular? Hopefully it means we can coast in easier on Wed.

Tuesday night is the first night for sorority rush. There is a mandatory meeting that evening

Thanks,
That must be it.
