move in maker?

my friend and i were both planning on doing this but now she might not be able to. she hasn't sent in the application yet, i have no way of reaching her for awhile, and i already got an email back

is it worth it to move in early? do you make friends, is there stuff to do up there earlier? i guess my big worry now is that i'll be up there so much earlier than most with nothing to do and i'll be lonely, as lame as that is. i don't know if i can get out of it now though.

I’m going to be doing this as well. I’m sure you make friends with the other Move-In Maker volunteers and the other freshmen as they move in :)

What’s a move-in maker?

You get to move in early, and help the other students find their room and get their stuff there.

It’s definitely worth it. You’ll make friends, and it also gives you time to explore classes, find your classes on campus, get to the bookstore before everybody comes back to campus, etc.

My daughter did it last year as a freshman. She loved it.There is lots going on and you get a headstart making friends. (D is from out of state and arrived knowing no one at all.)There is also an advantage to moving into the dorm before the big rush. It;s a great program.

I’ll be a Move-in-Maker in the fall!
