I was wondering if any past Move-In Makers could tell me about their experiences in this program. If anyone could talk about how their different shifts worked (time-wise/if it interfered with anything going on during move-in week/if it interfered with moving into an MLC), if we have to pay the early-move in fee, and anything else regarding this program would be really helpful!

I just got the confirmation that I’ll be a MIM this fall. The early move in is free, but if you don’t work i think 4 shifts then you have to reimburse them $75 for each day you moved in early. That’s all i know, though.

Yeah I got the “thanks for volunteering, we’ll contact you with more details” email earlier today. If you find out anything, such as how long the shifts are, I would appreciate it if you could post back Higgs. Thanks!

The shifts are 3-4 hours. It isn’t that big of a deal. If you sign up for the morning shift you will probably miss out on the fewest amount of activities because college students are not morning types. The early move-in is definitely free and the meals are also covered.

The move-in makers is very social and you will meet of lot of people doing it. If you want to get to Ann Arbor early I recommend it.

MIM is a great experience Freshman year you get a few days of experience in college before the other freshman get there all clueless.

Definitely worth it
