Move in TIME

Daughter is moving in Sat. 8/25, what time can we arrive. She is OOS. Thanks for help!!!

According to the 2012-2013 check in site students living within 3 hours of UD are requested to arrive in the morning (beginning at 8:00am) and the rest of students are requested to arrive in the afternoon. This is to minimize the gridlock which tends to occur around the dorms on arrival day.

I also believe we can “log on” on or after august 17th and do an online check in that will include giving UD an approx time of arrival.

Thank You

Also I received info last week about purchasing a rug through a company and it would be there when you arrived on campus. Unfortunately I believe I misplaced this info. Does anyone have info regarding this and has anyone done this before, how are the rugs? Thanks for your feedback.

The rugs are OK but at least some people would probably say that the quality leaves something to be desired. IMHO they are also overpriced but I guess it beats having to bring down a rug yourself from home. I do know that many of these rugs end up being thrown away after the school year. Others may have different views.

DD said she was able to do online check-in for her dorm today.

There’s a Home Goods store not to far from campus. We bought one there last year on the way so we didn’t have to drive for three or four hours with a huge rug from one of the car to the other. It cost a little more than I wanted to spend, but it will be good for this year too. Fortunately, DD’s roommate this year lives in DE so her parents were able to take it home with them on one of their many trips back and forth to campus!

We have rented microwave and fridge before and that did work out. Note that the older dorms have requirements about how much wattage they can handle.

Don’t worry if you arrive at a time different from the one assigned, they won’t kick you out!
