Move In Times The Same For All Roommates?

Just need an answer to the topic question

Nope... Each person in the room has a unique move-in time.

Really? thats odd.......my roommate has the same exact move in time and day! :-/

if everyone (like 40k students?) moves in on the same day all hell would break loose!

Have you all gotten your move-in dates already? I only ask b/c I haven't heard anything from housing yet and I'm a second year... I mean, I assume housing'll still assign us a move-in date, right?

you can get your move in date here ----->http://www.housing.ucla.edu/movein :)

yeah i dont know how all of u people kno that site but the move-in date will be sent in the package that will be coming... soon. so don't worry that package will come and the date will be reiterated.

thanks BruinBee09 and Westow! I'm "scheduled" to move-in on the 25th but I'm thinking, after speaking with my roomie of course, of changing it to like friday.. I mean, I'd rather move in at the beginning of move-in week than at the end because the way I see it is that then there'll be more time to relax and settle in before classes start...

do we get free parking during our move in? or are they going to rape us the $8...

While I'm not sure, my guess is that you're going to have to part with the $8.

Each person in the room may or may not have the same time. I really don't know how they determine things. Last year, my roommate and I had the exact same move in time (made sense since it was a contest betw who could make it there first so they could get first dibs on which bed they want), but this year my roommate's move in time is staggered. VTEC, they give you a certain amount of time to unload (not really heavily enforced), but I would recommend that you have at least 2 ppl along with you during your move in time. One person MUST stay by the car at all time (this they will enforce), and the other to help you unpack (although you could just unpack yourself). If you need additional time or you want to go visit places w/ your parents etc, you could pay for parking for the day (prob have to move to lot 7 under the im field across from pauley pavilion).

is Sept 23 12pm-2pm the earliest one?

no...the earliest time is Friday 8-10 a.m.

every person in the same room will have the same assigned move-in time. Move-in times are assigned by floor. i.e. The first and second floors of each building will move in on Friday, third and fourth and part of the fifth will move in on Saturday, etc...

So will we get an email tomorrow with the names/contact info for our roommates? Or will this come in the move-in packet as well?

-Ender

That information comes in the packet.

"do we get free parking during our move in? or are they going to rape us the $8..."

The way that I understood it was that parking was free for move-in. On the site that someone posted earlier about where to go to find out your move-in time they had a parking pass. At least that's what it gave me after I changed my move-in time.

ahh, maybe theres one in the packet that comes in the mail.

The letter you receive that tells you your move in time functions as your "parking pass"

ii hope my time is early enough compared to my roommates.. can we go in person (w/o baggage) and just wait outside our room to claim the bed? :D
