<p>you will get an email towards end of August to advise you of names of roommates, room sign up and your assigned move in date. The move in week end is September 18-21.</p>
<p>while you guys are on the topic… haha… when’s the best day (18/19/20/21?) to move in? and, what time that has the least traffic/people/hassle (morning/afternoon/night?) </p>
<p>i don’t really care about whether i get there before my roommates or not, haha. i know im gonna have a lot of stuff and i dont wanna spend the entire day moving stuff out of the car and into my room</p>
<p>so if we move in on the 18th, does that mean we spend from the 18th until the 24th in the dorms just chillin before classes start?</p>
<p>yup. there will be things to do everyday. the bruin bash dance will be sick.</p>
<p>i was move in assistant last year and noticed that less people show up in the morning than in the afternoon and more people show up in the later days… so best bet is morning of first and 2nd day… also a lot of new freshmen don’t know that they don’t have to come at the specific time so if you are assigned an afternoon slot, just go in the morning 
no one checks it lol</p>

<p>Yep, moving in early is awesome since you get to chill and take advantage of all the free food/drinks they hand out, meet people, etc.</p>

<p>you don’t get to pick your roommates for first year… they just tell your roommates and your move in time, and you can “change” it if you want…</p>

<p>well… im a 2nd year so i’ve already officially/unofficially chosen a room and roommate. are we getting another email at the same time 1st years get theirs?</p>
<p>yeah you will, i remember i called my roommate as a joke pretending to not know him (i did that my first year, same roommates :D)</p>
