Move onto Math 2 & Physics, retake SAT I, or try ACT?

I’m a rising senior looking to pursue a STEM major in college and I just got my scores from the June SAT. I studied for the SAT for a good 10 months and received a composite 2120 (CR:710, M:680, W:730).

As someone looking to major in engineering I realize my Math score isn’t extremely high (90th percentile), but the schools I’m looking at have the 75th percentile for math at around 710.

Should I look to retake my SAT 1 in Oct and take Math 2 and Physics in Nov? Or is my Math score good enough and I should just look to kick ass in Math and Physics.

OR 3rd option, study for the ACT (haven’t even taken a practice test before) and see if I could get a good math score through the ACT.

Thanks!

I would work on the SAT II because a really good score there might show that your knowledge is more advanced than the SAT I shows

@whuff24 Thanks for the response!

You should at least take an ACT practice test to see where you stand. Plenty of mathy people do way better on the ACT math than SAT math.

For a rising senior, I’d recommend Sept. ACT, Oct. SAT, and Nov. Subject Tests. It’s exactly what I’m doing.

@Hermit9 okay thanks for the response bud!
