Move to canada

Who went to canada from the US? It looks raelly really boring and cold and expensive (atleast books do). Tell me about it.

Well, I'm a born-and-raised Canadian, and I think it really depends on where you move to in Canada. It's a big, diverse place. The Greater Toronto Area of Ontario and the Edmonton area of Alberta are like two different countries. Living in the province of Quebec is a vastly different experience than living in, say, Saskatchewan (language is just one difference). In Ontario people say "car," in Nova Scotia they say "kerr." You get the point.

So, what area of Canada are you interested in? If it is the Toronto area, I can give you my two cents.

It shouldn't be really expensive compared to the US (though it's relatively more expensive than it used to be like 5 years ago, just because the canadian dollar went from US $.63 to .89), except in certain place like Alberta and maybe Toronto. Though cost of living issues tend to get complicated. Cold is a matter of perception. From my perspective, Montreal has no winter, anything south of it is just tropical (especially in the summer). Same goes for what one defines as boring (though Hamilton is boring by any and all standards). Though I'm sure Americans living close enough to the border, aged around 18-20, will tell you Canada's a great fun place to go to get booze and see strippers, if that's your thing...

I'm just wondering about canada. I was studying it for school and the only places that looked good was Toronto and if you're an outdoor person, Vancouver. Everything else looked like boring crap and I thought living there is expensive because books cost like 10 bucks when tehy would be 8 bucks here.

Then I remembered a lot of kids want to go to a university in Toronto and I ask myself "... WHY???"

So give me your two cents on Toronto.

so I guess canada is like the us then?

I've been pretty much everywhere in Canada except for Toronto and Ottawa. Canada is amazing, gorgeous, great food and nice people. Love it.

Thanks :) .

"Then I remembered a lot of kids want to go to a university in Toronto and I ask myself "... WHY???" "

I get the same reaction from people when I say I want to go to college in Montr

Canada was a different currency, quite. That's why books are more expensive.

About $1.00 USD is $.90 CAD, so there's not that much of a difference.

Canada is very expensive compared to the U.S. But because we have a paid-for healthcare system, everything is much more expensive.
