Moved from Singapore, Need perspective

I am an Indian Citizen who lived in Singapore for 10 years and have shifted to Houston, TX last year. I am now a senior, am looking at my options, and have decided that I will most likely double major in Business and Economics. My Class Rank is weak, due to transfer of credits from a different system, and my ECs are weak for my Junior year due to the shift.

UT Austin
Texas A&M
Rice
NYU (Stern)
Emory
Cornell
U of Chicago

In addition to chancing me, please suggest Colleges and LACs with good Business and Economics programs that I have a chance to get into. My problem is that because of the Top 10% rule, I only have a safety (A&M) and all the other are reaches, so please suggest some possible matches. Thanks a lot for your time.

BTW, my APs
Bio: 5
Eng:4

wa, lemme guess. Anglo-Chinese Independent? XD

Nam kya hein yar?

U of Chicago does not have undergraduate business.

I will major in economics if i get into Uu of Chicago

should i post in the college search thread?

Any suggestions for colleges that are a notch below the Ivies?

When traveling on the road of life, you are bound to hit a speed… BUMP

Did your school have AP’s or you did self study? I guess ACS has A and O levels.

I am a parent of a rising senior son and his college list has UT and TAMU as well, but since he wants to do CS, some of his other choices differ.

From what I have read up so far, good colleges with Econ and Bus majors are easy to find. Trinity University in SA, Tx has business and so also SMU. Babson college, UMCP, Pitt, Penn State honors…UCSB?

Wish you all the best.

My school here in texas has APs, I selfstudied for world history, but got a 3, so i will not be reporting that. In ACS, i took o levels for hindi, which i have been studying for 10 years.

Anyone? Please?

bump bump…

Um I don’t know much about business schools, but Stern may be difficult. But your ECs sound good but maybe higher SAT scores would help?

Wow, I always thought that my ECs were weak! What was the strong part?

Don’t even bother with U. Chicago and Rice. Sorry no chance

Aw… shucks

how is the university of rochester?

bump
bump
bump

Ok, don’t listen to asian75. If application fees aren’t an issue, go ahead and apply to wherever you want. Try to really get strong essays and play off of something that is unique to you.

Thanks a lot!
