Movie Bus

Anyone with experience taking movie bus home for all the holidays/breaks? Do most kids leave campus for Mid-term recess (Thanksgiving break)?

Yes, most kids leave campus. But some don’t. It’s a few days of moderate loneliness . . .or a wonderful few days of peace and quiet. Depends on who you are and how you see things. I’m not sure I’d want to spend a really long vacation on campus, but the Thanksgiving break goes by pretty fast.

This is a common situation at many colleges, especially with students who have to travel a very long distance to get home so choose to stay instead. Really should not be a big deal, but with kids they can sometimes hyper-escalate it into a major Abandonment Crisis. Silly kids. I’d love to lounge around for four days with nothing much to do. Again, it depends on the kid and how they view it.

Sorry, don’t know anyting about the “movie bus”.

My son took the movie bus back and forth once freshman year - it was very convenient. After that, he was able to find a ride home (and once he had his own car at Colgate, always brought home a carload of kids himself). Most kids leave campus at Thanksgiving and October break; those who live far away often go home with their friends (our son brought home friends several times on breaks).
