<p>Adobe Premier Elements is pretty good and inexpensive.</p>
<p>Sony Vegas is everything you need.</p>

<p>I third Premier Elements. I just got back from editing a video for AP US History myself (odd). It was easy as pie and the finished product was very good quality.</p>
<p>Premiere Elements gets another vote. It's a surprisingly deep piece of software, given the intended market.</p>
