Does anyone have any recommendations for good french movies to watch in preparation for the exam?

Some good ones:

Les Choristes (The Chorus) - was nominated for 2 Academy Awards, amazing movie
Paris, je t'aime - I haven't seen this one but heard it was good
Ratatouille - good movie, won Academy Award for best animated film
Persepolis - nominated for best animated film, very good! I loved it

The french movies we watch in class are from the 80s: Jean de Florette, Jean de Florette 2, Le Huitieme Jour, Rue Cases Negres. They are okay but not as great as the ones above.

In my class at college we've watched Rue Cases Negres and Ca Twiste a Popenguine (it's Senegalese)

In high school I saw Jean de Florette, Au Revoir les Enfants, Indochine, Diva, Belle et la Bete, and Cyrano de Bergerac. They were all really good.

Other movies I've seen are Kirikou et la Sorciere (animated, kinda funny), Paris Je T'aime (not all in French, but so so good), Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain (you have to have seen this), Leolo (Canadian - probably why it's underappreciated, but it's SO funny), La Reine Margot (so much nudity, but really good), and Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles.

I've also heard good things about La Cage Aux Folles, La Haine, Ma Vie En Rose, and Argent de Poche but I haven't seen them myself.

Check out the Cesar Awards for more suggestions.

P.S. How much french was in Ratatouille?

Ratatouille..uh..barely any. I just picked it out because it was French related, but its a good movie nevertheless.
