Where do Cornell students watch movies that are currently in theaters? Is there a theater in Collegetown, or one that requires a longer travel distance? Does the Cornell Cinema only play older movies?

[Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ithaca%2C+ny+movie+theaters)

the issue of the cornell daily sun had an ad for the cornell cinema, and it seemed like they showed new stuff too

and can you guys please stop with the google bs.

sure… as long as people stop asking questions that can easily be googled.

she wasn’t asking simply if there were theaters in ithaca, but rather wanted to know from current students where they watch movies, something google can’t tell you. Maybe try googling tips for “how to be nice”, or in the least “how to not come off like a dick”

cc102, you did not address any of the OP’s 3 questions directly.

perhaps you need a reading lesson…[let me google that for you!](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+read+properly)

Yo, can everyone get off cc’s back? He wasn’t being a dick, and you all need to chill the f@#k out.

Here’s the rundown:
Pyramid mall Regal - Large theater, comfortable seats, all the current movies. Take the 30 Bus north to get to it.

Cornell Cinema - Mix of current movies, older movies, and independent movies. Cheap to get in. Housed in Willard Straight Hall on campus.

Cinemapolis - Definitely more independent movies. Shows some older movies that are well liked (i.e. Slumdog Millionaire). Located in the commons. Also accessible by the 30 Bus, southbound.

I think there might be another, but those are really the only ones people use.

i might be looking at a different post than you guys, but part of the post that I see is:

i decided to answer that one (via google, of course) bc i figured other people could chime in about other stuff. also - i didn’t figure it was an important thing for me to put in my opinion bc the OP will obviously come up with her/his own decision after talking with her/his friends there.

so, uh…
@ananya: you should take your own advice.
@thold: how about you stop reading far too much into things? boy, i never realized posting a link to an answer to one of someone’s questions equaled me coming off as a dick/unkind. thanks for the PSA, though!

p.s. thanks chendrix (but i’m a girl!)

quite honestly, if people were less lazy, you wouldn’t have many people use lmgtfy/telling people to google. it might be different for people who haven’t been here that long, but the posters in this community used to be a lot less LAZY and a lot more proactive in answering their OWN questions first before asking people on this forum. oh, and this is my first time posting a lmgtfy link so why don’t you all just shut it and stop using me as a scapegoat? thanks. i’d really appreciate it.

seriously. the telling people to go google thing is sometimes more annoying than the stupid questions.

nah, giving a link isn’t being a dick, but generally the LMGTFY is considered an insult to the person’s intelligence.

not really. to me it seemed it took cornell cinema as long as it takes dollar cinemas back home to get the new hits…2weeks-month+

the movie theatre at the mall is new but MAD pricey…9.50 for regular…7.50 for matinee…

medium popcorn and medium coke for like $11? girls bring your purses :P

i’d say more often than not people watch movies they download…yes the more popular movies are usually leaked…if ur lucky we’ll get a screener :)

Gotta get those r5 DVD leaks.

no crappy cams though.

Um. Wow…

To cc102…I realize that I could have found my answers via Google. Then again, you could Google many of the questions that are asked here on CC, so I don’t see what the big deal is or why you’re so annoyed - you could have just ignored my post. When I have questions about Cornell’s student life, I automatically think of asking them on CC because that’s the point of this forum, and movies seemed to fall into that category.

To everyone else…thanks for your answers/defending me xD And sorry for the Google-able questions.

“the movie theatre at the mall is new but MAD pricey…9.50 for regular…7.50 for matinee…”

thought thats normal price lol, here where i live its 11.50 for a ticket =(

and I’m not supporting anyone’s side here but you actually can google all the answers lol

ithaca college has a handier little guide

[IC InfoDesk Presents: Guide to Ithaca, NY](<a href=“Information Technology and Analytics | Ithaca College”>Ithaca College | Ranked #1 for Undergraduate Teaching)

although you should double check because businesses come and go…

i.e. there is no longer a fall creek pictures cinema b/c they merged with cinemapolis downtown in opening a new facility located across from urban outfitters in the commons

Same here! They can get even more expensive, depending on the location of the theater…hooray nyc lol.

And thank you for the link, ResurgamBell!

yeah i guess thats normal for NYC and yankeeland…

i guess the pricing is ok since it’s new but the concessions really get me…ridiculous…

its 10.50 near DC
