Movin' down to the South

What I’m worried about is the amount of black in my wardrobe…I’m going to start phasing it out and wearing more white. I love white. It’s so crisp.

Blargh, I know I can wear just about whatever in college and nobody will care, but I WANT TO LOOK CUTE :)

Preppy is big in the south, as someone else mentioned. Of course, in larger cities like ATL you can get away with more “trendy” looks but preppy will always be the look that many people strive for.

Learn to tack on the fake accent too.

Preppy, really? What kind of preppy? I for one consider JCrew stuff classic, not preppy. When I think preppy I think Lily Pulitzer; lots of pink and green and pearls with ribbon belts. I’ve always thought JCrew was pretty subdued and much MUCH classier than more “country club preppy” crap.

I think the preppy look Cuse is talking about is the 2005ish AE and Abercrombie ugly polo look.

Ew! That stuff is so tacky and not cute at all :frowning: I think I’ll stick with my classy look, thanks.

Stay Classy, San Diego…Atlanta? >_<

Hahaha no way.

I’m talking about Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Vinyard Vines and Southern Tide. Khaki’s, sperries, polos, etc.

A good, southern man’s polo earned by said southern man’s own sweat and blood, khaki shorts (flat-fronts) that rise a good three to four inches above the knee to attract the ladies, a decent pair of generic sperrys (make sure to get the exact hue everyone else already has to avoid originality), and most importantly a smile that reeks of hard work and good Southern honesty.

Girls typically wear Northface jackets and Ugg boots during the winter. Dark wash jeans are commonplace, along with polos from various brands. I would suggest layers if you’re looking to mix and match outfits, but it tends to get extremely hot in Georgia, especially around this time.

Guys usually wear Rainbows and khaki pants, with a nice polo or shirt. I rarely see guys wear jeans, even during the winter. Sperry’s are pretty common for both genders, but PLEASE don’t wear them if you plan on wearing shorts. It makes me want to gouge my eyes out when I see this fashion atrocity.

I actually prefer sundresses during the summer because it looks like you planned your outfit the night before, when in actuality you just threw something on.
