My mom would also bring a sack of flour and sugar to someone (including all her kids) in a new home so that so you never know hunger and have a sweet life full of joy. I have carried on this tradition!

I think the other thing I’m remembering is a loaf of bread.
Enjoy your move. It will be fun getting everything organized, and you can take your time with everything but the essentials.
