Moving in..?

hey fellow huskies :)
I'm an international student and need to book tickets and such to fly to seattle before autumn quarter starts, do you guys know when the earliest date we can move in is? I'm not doing early fall start, but i'm going to the states early and i don't really want to live on the streets until school starts so.. :P
thanks for your help, I'm SO EXCITED to meet all of you! and hopefully won't be a loner hahah.

I heard that we can’t check-in the dorms until 9/20

Well, maybe you can find a cheap room for a couple of weeks or a month, or can stay at a hostel.

Wow where are you coming from? that is so exciting! You might want to contact UW directly, because I am pretty sure there are other people in your situation.

hahah i go to an international school in beijing, I’m from taiwan  and i think they have an early move-in option for some people, but we won’t be able to apply for it until early-august grr. oh well :)

Wendy I’m from Taiwan too, and I’m also thinking about applying the early arrival housing! :)

Hmm, so I got to know quite a few international students (mostly mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore) before my freshman year and none of them had trouble with getting early arrival housing. However, they also applied ASAP when the application came out.

I wouldn’t worry about it TOO much, but since it’s not guaranteed (I might just have had lucky friends), I can see where you’re coming from, especially since you’re probably going to have to book tickets soon!

ohh cool placid0830, what school do you go to in tw? TAS? (sorry this is the only american school i know in tw so :P)
ok thanks for your advice speedsolver! :)

by the way are any of you planning on applying for the new housing dorms (alder hall and elm hall)? they look sooo nice but a lot more expensive… and everyone says that lander hall is the most “freshman-y” and more interactive… BUT IM IN LOVE WITH ALDER HALL :D

I went to ICA. It’s a really small boarding school in Taichung.

I’m planning on applying to the newer dorms too mainly because of the private bathrooms.
