moving in

I can't believe orientation starts in about three weeks. I have been assigned to a quad in Mary Donlon Hall and because of the first letter in my last name I am scheduled to move in at 8:00 a.m. Does this mean I am allowed to select my room and bed when I arrive (before at least some of my roommates) or is it customary to wait for all to arrive and then choose. Also, I do not know how we choose our actual roommate as four of us are assigned to share the space provided.

why don't you join the classof2011 hallmates group and chat with your roommates about this...

if youre there first pick the room you want. no one would expect you to wait 5 hours for all your roommates so you can choose straws, and if they did its only because theyre selfish and want the best room. take advantage of your situation.

i was just going to say that. but just remember that there are 4 of you, so try to keep your stuff on your quarter of the room

thank you for the responses. I do not want to get off to a bad start with my roommates but am happy to hear that i get to select my living space without waiting hours for them to arrive.

just don't choose the best bed, best drawer, best closet all for yourself. Leave some for your roommate so you can get off to a good start.

definitely get the best bed though..lol..they would too
