Will I be able to move in on the 10th without an ID card? I'm a new student, so I haven't received one yet. I would get it on that day, but the ID center is closed on Sundays. The reason why I'm looking to move in so early is because orientation is at 8am the next day and I'd rather be on campus for it.

I’m pretty sure you can’t. If I remember correctly, when I moved in this fall, the guys at the move-in table wanted to see my UT ID before they handed me my keys to the room. Plus you need keycard access in order to get into the buildings on move in day. My RA told me residential halls don’t open till 11 A.M. on the 11th

They told us that if you were going to orientation and accepted univ housing, you could stay there Sunday. There must be some exceptions.

Ah, ok. An email I got said that check-in starts on the 10th and continues to the 15th. I guess I’ll have to start driving really early in the morning on the 11th. I read something about temporary IDs, but I doubt they’d give me one since I never had one to begin with.

Update: I got an email response back from DFHS today.

Not sure how I would be able to go past the card swipers, though. Maybe they’ll give me a temporary ID.

I think that your RA and the people on duty at the front desk will help you out til you get your real ID.
