Moving out and getting a single!!

There's been a lot of drama and conflict in the townhouse I'm currently living in, so I decided it would be best if I moved out. I'm moving into an apartment on campus with my friend, and originally I was going to be assigned a roommate, but today, the housing director emailed me saying I wasn't getting a roommate right now, and there's a pretty good chance that I won't get a roommate, so I'll have a single, or, my current roommate will move in with me. If that happened, I wouldn't have a single, but I also wouldn't have a problem. I love my current roommate, and I'm gonna miss rooming with her, so living with her again would be great.

Everyone should get to live alone at least once, its an awesome way to get to know you , and be free of any roomate drama .

For about 24 I live alone and it was awesome , you have alot more flexability, like if i’m a dork who wakes up at 3am to play staycraft I don’t have to worry about ****ing off my roomate .
I got very lucky as I found a place for cheap, but even if its a little more expensive the pro’s outweigh the cons . - In your case you know and like your roomate so its a little better .

I’m living on campus. My school requires you to live on campus unless you live at home with your parents, are married, or are among a group of select seniors who apply and are granted permission to live off campus.

So what did you exactly want us to say?

Congrats?

I’m just excited.

That sounds like a really silly way for the school to milk you for money .
I’ve heard of schools with a Freshmen requirement for on school housing , even this I don’t understand, since if you can find a better deal else where why not go for it .

Like at my last school the freshmen where ONLY offered student housing in 1200$ a month dorms with 2 to 3 roomates . I had a friend on facebook make fun of this , since she found a private room for like 500$ a month a few blocks from campus

You had the option to live off campus , which many people did .

It’s really not that bad, especially since there are really no good off campus housing options. There’s an apartment complex quite nearby, but it’s extremely sketchy and dangerous, and the other apartment complex that’s fairly close has the same problem…
