Moving out

Does anyone have information regarding moving out of dorms procedures for next week? My DS is done Thursday so I was going to move him out of Sutherland Friday. With the increased security I'm wondering if I can even go up to his room. Also where we'll be able to park and if carts will be available? I didn't find anything on Panther Centrals site.

They always have carts. With the security going on now, I would guess that you will not be allowed in. My daughter has moved out of her rooms more than once while I sat in the car. With the carts, it isn’t so bad for the kids if you cannot help. Have snacks at the car. That will be motivation for your son. It works pretty well if he brings a loaded cart down, unloads it quickly to the ground, you load the car, and he goes back for load two. I also took a soft cartop carrier in case it doesn’t fit as well as it did in August.

Also have him find a couple of friends to help him. I had a friend help me move out freshman year so that things got done a LOT quicker. I’m sure he’ll know a few people around with free time! I believe I moved out in an hour with 2 helpers!

Thanks MD Mom and Awesome! I found this today too. It’s in the Panther Central Publications list

I called Panther Central earlier this week and they said that parents would be allowed inside the dorms for moveout. Carts will be available at Panther Central.
