Ok so here's the situation,

I'm an Econ major.I applied as transfer to Columbia for the upcoming fall. The last day to drop a class at my college is May 14. Columbia's decision comes out somewhere between May1-14,15 (judging from pass threads & rumors). The class that I am endangered of getting a C/D in is an Accounting class (I have a 3.8 GPA overall), I'm just struggling a lot for no apparent reason.

According to Columbia's official statement to transfers I am eligible for transfer. I have taken total of 24+ units this year. However here's the unique situation. If I withdrawal from the accounting class I will no longer be a full time student. I will be .7 unit short (I have 11.3 units).

And I have gone through the statement of transfers many times, it doesn't talk about whether a student needs to be a full time student. I suppose Columbia assumes if a student has taken 24units they must be or counted as a full-time student. I called the office today and the receptionist told me that I need to notify them through email that I changed my class. How should I go about doing this? A Concise letter? or 2-3 paragraph letter explaining my situation.

Furthermore, if I am indeed accepted as a transfer to Columbia will my application be rescinded. I mean Columbia College doesn't even have Accounting related courses as an undergrad. So if i am accepted I won't get an credit I assume. I am going to retake my accounting class during Summer, so will that makeup for the withdrawal, since I'm completing it prior to enrollment.

I know my chances are already slim enough for Columbia. I just don't want to get accepted only get my application rescinded. Bottom line is I don't want to get caught with my pants down. If I don't drop the class and Columbia rejects me, that C or D will destroy my GPA.

I need that class for Haas as a pre-req. If anybody was interested.
I will be cross posting this in the Columbia and transfer forum hoping for more feedback.
Plus this thread will serve future transfer students.
