Moving up, down, and all around the ranks

I'm in a bit of a predicament here.

This year I was chosen to represent students on my district's school board. I'm also the secretary of the leadership group that helped create this position, among other things. According to my group's advisor, I can't be president this year because he thinks it would be too stressful for me (he's right - I'm a junior and president of MUN, have a part-time job, and I'm not in good health. In addition, it would look like I had a monopoly over the group, a la Tracy Flick). So I have to wait until senior year to be president. Being student rep is ranked higher than being a club president, of course.

My question is, would it look bad on my applications if I went from top leadership to middle? In addition, I'm taking APES this year but I don't want to take AP Chem/Bio/Physics in senior year. I don't intend on majoring in any scientific fields. Can I just take honors physics in 12th grade, or perhaps skip science in favor of AP Psych and being a TA?

It should be fine. I’m this year’s district rep for my school too. How often do you go in your district? Our district has 15ish meetings a year and has each of the 3 reps (one from each high school) go to five.

Aw yeah! I go to every meeting, twice a month. How’s it for you so far?
