The waiting is excruciating…I can’t imagine what it will be like next year waiting for college decisions…this is hard enough!

I agree! I read the posts of all these people waiting to hear about their next four years! We are waiting to hear about 3 weeks in the summer- but it is really hard. I can’t imagine what they are going through.

I was hoping we would hear this week! Oh well…
My son is set for 2nd session at OCU and is excited but would love to hear good news from Michigan.

Mine will do Broadway Theatre Project if we don’t hear by March 23 (or he doesn’t get in) . They need to get my deposit by March 25.

I emailed Mpulse last week because my D was accepted to OCU and had to decide which session to attend by Mar 8. Mpulse said that they could not make early decisions for anyone

They are going to lose people because of their late decisions. I’m going to hold on as long as I can because I think it’s his first choice.

Did they say that they are waiting until March 30? This sure makes planning tough!

Hi guys, excuse me JUMPING in, but I’ve got something to say
I’m a high school junior, and this is my second time auditioning for Mpulse. Last year I didn’t get in. But I was a sophomore, so I told myself I can do next year. Here’s my thing with U of M, I just think they’ve been slow. Last year, I got my rejection three weeks after auditioning in person. This year, well, it’s past three weeks! But I think U of M is just being slow this year, because last year I sent my application and got accepted to audition three days later whereas this year, it took them a month to accept my application. OY!

I have to admit the wait is a bit frustrating, but unlike some of you, my D does not yet even have a backup plan lined up if she does NOT get into MPulse. We usually don’t procrastinate on purpose, but are waiting to see if she gets rejected before initiating her “Plan B”, applying to another summer program. She did do a 3-week musical theater session at OCU last summer and LOVED it, and would still have time this year to apply to at least one other program that has a later deadline, so…we’re just going to hang tight and hope for the best! And I do believe this program is supposed to be one of the best, from what we’ve been hearing! Anxiously excited…

Getting into Mpulse is tough! We needed a back up. I think most of us just thought we would find out about all of them about the same time. I don’t think any of us want to give up on Mpulse we are just not totally confident about getting in. We don’t want to end up with nothing.

I feel for all of you. My son went to MPulse the summer of '09 (which was the summer after his sophomore year), and he had also been accepted into BTP that year. We really didn’t think it was likely that he would get into MPulse so we paid the deposit for BTP when it was due. When we got the MPulse acceptance a few days later we were so excited we just forfeited the BTP deposit and went to MPulse anyway. I hate leaving money on the table and don’t do it lightly, but ultimately felt the more selective MPulse would be the best experience for him and would look better on his resume. After flying all over the country auditioning this spring, the deposit we lost at BTP was just one more drop in the big fat bucket of money we keep spending on this process. haha. I don’t mean to make light of the situation, because I know money is tight, but I feel like you just have to grit your teeth and keep smiling. My wallet has been in a constant open state for months now and we haven’t even started paying for college! Just gotta pray that this is all worth it, but it’s been a fun adventure so far.

I know I’ll do the same thing. it will kill me to send BTP $700 and then get into Mpulse. I guess I would feel so great about it, the $700 would not be so important. Oh, that would be a great dilemma to have!

The website now says “closed” for the application deadline date! They are thinking about us!! (or at least won’t accept any other applications)

I totally understand! Several options are always a good idea. I’m just not yet willing to relinquish any more application fees so we’re waiting as long as possible this year… :)

Good news!!! We just received an email offering a spot in the MT Workshop. They asked for an answer by Wednesday, we said “yes” of course!

congrats, mompop! So I’m not overly fixated on my Blackberry email, did the notification come to the parents’ email address or the student’s?

The email came to me and to my husband. Good luck to all!

I think the decisions are going out as a student of mine just informed me she was accepted, along with those who have already posted the same.

Fourkorz, our son also received the MT acceptance via his email and ours this am. Date for reply is 3/16 and he will be accepting. Best wishes to all for whatever your summer endeavors might be!

Just got my acceptance email! I am very excited, seeing as 6 months ago I didn’t even know about the program! Luckily I stopped by U of M with my parents one day and someone told as all about the program! Can’t Wait!
