It appears it is time to get this year’s thread going for MPulse.

Son was notified via email he is on the “short waitlist”. Granted that is better than a decline, put hard to tell how short the waitlist is w/o numbers. Similar to flying standby, it would be nice to know the exact number on the waitlist and how deep they went into it in the last couple of years.

Does anyone know of anyone who was accepted? My D hasn’t heard anything yet and I have only seen wait lists and rejections posted. Should we be hopeful? She even checked her Spam and nothing.

A number of kids were admitted today via email…our friend contacted us about 11 am PST to say she had just gotten an email. Good luck to everyone waiting!

you should for sure call and check it out. I think all notifications went out today.
I wonder too how long this “short” wait list is? I see three people posted wait list.

No word yet. Very disappointed that we have heard absolutely nothing. When a friend heard and got a rejection, we were hopeful because we thought maybe this meant D was on the acceptance list. Now, we figure she was most likely dropped off the rejection list which is way longer – she emailed the office at about 5:00 p.m. PST. Maybe they should post it like a cast list and use the application numbers. This is a definite bummer to not know.

To those that did not receive a reply, could it possibly be (and this is just a Guess, pure and simple)your app was not or “complete” by the “priority” deadline? And thus the delay? I know the recommendation(s)had to be sent via email and perhaps they were late or not received. Just trying to figure out why you would not have been notified. Must be torture to wait the weekend not knowing while everyone else has closure. Hopefully this will be cleared up for all those waiting promptly on Monday morning.

I hope you get your answers on monday. That must be so frustrating. I don’t think it would hurt to call. Let us know what happened and good luck!

Good thought about the priority deadline, but my D’s application was in and complete well before the deadline – including her recommendations. Since she is a sophomore, our hopes aren’t very high, but it is still hard waiting the couple of extra days. Sure it was just a typo in the email address or something. Oh well, everyone makes mistakes now and then.

My daughter heard at noon on friday 3/1. She is a soph and she didn’t get in. I’d be interested in knowing if any sophs got in this year? I’m thinking Junior year is an ideal time anyway as it sounds like it is great prep for college auditions.

152398, 2 years ago we were told that there were so many qualified juniors that sophomores were only being considered after them. My son did not get in that year as a sophomore. I do recall there was a sophomore girl that got in off the wait list. Try and look at the posts back them. I’ll be honest, we were rejected and heard that news a week after the acceptances. Good Luck to everyone.

My son is a sophomore and was rejected. I’m hoping it will inspire him to work harder on his grades and audition pieces in preparation for next year. It would be good to know if other sophomores did get in, in order to give us a realistic view. I know in his head he is probably thinking “if I were a junior I would of got in”

If that is the protocol, that’s fine, but the web site should state that. Something like "if the program is filled by qualified juniors, sophmore applications will be declined without regard to merit.

Its pretty misleading, IF in fact that’s the way it is done.

So accepted or waitlisted Sophmores, post away!
