He is all grown up now and was Mayor of Stockton, CA. He’s married with 2 babies and will be interviewed by Oprah about his book on November 16, 2021. For those who remember him? Yes. Our apprentice won the prestigious Alice Walker Award, made it to Stanford, started his own college prep program, became mayor and is now rubbing elbows with Oprah. What a ride.

I saw an HBO documentary on him last year. What an inspiring story and amazing person.
He is an amazing young man. His journey was a testimony ro what CC was in the old days.

His story is a wonderful example of why holistic admissions is so important. Stats really isn’t everything.
