MS Computer Science at SEAS

Hi

I ve got through MS Computer Science at SEAS and have picked the Network Systems track. I wanted to major/specialize in Networks and am wondering whether SEAS would be the way to go.

I would be looking to do work in my field during summer internship and would wanna get placed in a Co. (irrespective of domain) working in the field of networks. I wot even mind setting up networks for finance cos.

I have also got thru Viterbi in USC n North Carolina State.

Would SEAS be the way to go? Also I would wanna pursue either a PhD. or an MBA later in my career.

Straight out..

Why should I pay more for Columbia ?

by "getting through", do you mean "getting into" or "getting accepted by"?

Why would anyone pay for a Masters degree? Get into a funded grad program.

What do you mean by funded grad program?

Which word don't you get? It's pretty clear what a funded grad program is.

damn you columbia2002, don't make me laugh at 11:33 at night. People are trying to sleep.

Grad programs recruit students to work for reciprocal benefits to the grad programs and students, thus funding the grad programs. Obvious commons.

i.e. They give you money instead of you giving them money.

Forget funded grad prgrams for a min. Becaise I m sure international students like me might not really be eligible for them.

About funding all 3 Univs have come back to me (via email) and have told me that no funding is available !

So.. the question is Why should I pay more at Columbia over the other 2 ? What kinda benefits would I be expecting ?

By benefits I mean.. what would a Columbia give me that a NC State might not ?Are grad placements or internships at SEAS better ??

probably. How much of a total difference in cost are we talking about?

Columbia's grad program has got to be 60-70%+ international and those people are undoubtedly funded.
