MS Finance program comparison

Hey guys,

Could you give me your opinions on MS Finance programs: Washington U in St Louis, Boston College, George Washington U, U of Maryland. Which is the best choice to seek a job in the northeast after graduation?

Thanks!

there is also one at Princeton…

If anyone knows anything about it, please post.

I’ve been admitted to WUSTL and Maryland and I am still waiting for BC and GWU.

Some people say WUSTL’s MS Finance program is fairly new and the location of the school is less ideal in terms of job hunting.

What’s your opinions, guys?

You should try posting this in the MBA forum; a lot of MS Fin programs have been talked about there.

Thank you… I posted but no reply…

I imagine of the schools you listed WUSL would be the best. Look carefully at the curriculum for each program, there can be a pretty big difference between MSF programs. My program, for instance, is basically a healthy mix of accounting and economics mixed in with some finance classes. Princeton’s MSF, however, is much more quantitative by comparison.

OP, I believe George Washington U is the best in your list. It is ranked among the top 12 Quantitative Finance Master’s Programs and No. 1 in pure Finance Master’s Programs in the Nation by Global Derivatives.
Princeton has a top grad finance program, but getting onto it is tough as the program is quite small. It only has less than 35 students each year.
If you would like to consider attending a West Coast school, Haas has a top FE program too. But like Princeton’s, it is an extremely hard program to get onto. Haas has the best career placement statistics amongst the tier 1 schools for grad level finance programs.
