I graduated in May with a MS in Accounting from a top 3 accounting school. I am looking to pursue a career in tax law and was wondering if my degree would help in the application process. Both my undergrad and masters GPA were 3.6. Specifically, I am looking to go to Northwestern. When I was researching Northwestern I noticed that they accept the GMAT with equal weight as the LSAT, is that common for law schools?

Some more information about me:
3 years as a systems analyst
2 years as a corporate accountant
Since graduation I have been working as an internal auditor.

“Northwestern Law prices tuition by the degree pursued rather than the length of enrollment. Therefore, tuition for the Accelerated JD Program is pro-rated to equal the same total cost as the traditional three-year JD Program.”

While 680 is a pretty good score, it may be a bit weak for Northwestern considering that their LSAT range is one of the top-10 highest in the nation. Even the low end of their mid-50% is 167 which is around 95th percentile. 680 in GMAT is somewhere between 88-90th percentile. But this accelerated program is fairly new and may not be as competitive as the regular JD program. That may help.
