Hi all, can anyone offer me some guidance? I am looking for advice for my future (no big deal, ha) and would really appreciate some insight.
I graduated from Boston University in May 2014 and soon after, started working at a Pharmaceutical/Biotech company as an Business Analyst. I love this job! Even though my degree was in a wet science field, I took enough Computer Science courses to get this position.
Anywhoooo, I am looking into MS programs in Information Technology Management. I like this area and would like to stick with it. Easy, right?
Here comes the dilemma: I would love to work abroad for some time.
In your wise opinion, what are my options?
- Go for an MS in IT program abroad in UK/Ireland/Germany? the MS Programs are a lot cheaper, but I know it is difficult for Americans to get hired due to visa restrictions. (I have a US passport)
- Is there some demand for IT professionals abroad?
- Does doing my MS in these countries even help my chances for getting a job there?
- I have studied abroad in France and have proficient skills in French. Does this help?
- Should I do my MS here in the good ol' US of A and then just try to do an internship in Europe...? Is this even possible...
- Will working abroad be a 'black mark' on my resume when I do come back to the US? Will employers question why I left the country and use it as a reason to not hire me?
Ah so many options! Please help me - any assistance is much appreciated.
Thank you
