<p>No, the neighborhood surrounding USC is not very safe. That said, USC’s campus itself is very safe. I’ve visited it and heard that as long as you use common sense (don’t walk alone outside of campus at night) you will be fine. Consider that thousands of students attend USC and the vast majority have no real problems.</p>
<p>Depends on how low the GPA is…below 3.0 you may be in trouble. The higher you can get your GRE, the better your chances. An 800 quant score (or whatever the new scale is) can definitely offset a low GPA.</p>
