I am starting to look at grad school programs for next year, and this is something I cannot make up my mind on.
Currently I am a mechanical engineering senior student, and will be starting work soon. I plan to start doing my grad studies, part time, next year, and I am pretty sure I can get into one of the nation's top engineering grad school, however I am not yet decided on the major.

1) What do you think I should pursue: MS in IE or ME?
2) Which is more prestigious when put on a resume (given I am not considering R&D in my MechE field)
3) Which is the degree that most likely would repay its cost faster?
4) What about the engineering management program, how does it compare to IE

Here are some things to consider:
a) I plan to move into the managerial part of the company rather than practice technical engineering.
b) An MBA is something I am determined to do, except later, maybe after 5 years
c) This is something I heard from a relative, who is an experienced engineer: go for MSME as soon as you can, get experience, go for MBA later, forget about MSIE since by then you would have the MBA. What do you think of this line of thought

This may all seem to early but your opinions now are more valued than 10 years down the road.
Thanks in advance.
